Tattoo Aftercare

So you have a new tattoo and you're in love with it. We are too, we are so proud to have been able to make you happy, and bring your vision to life.

But, now comes the real work. You need to heal this art properly so that it can shine through the years to come.

Follow these directions; to do just that.

1. Do not remove the bandage for at least one hour but no more than eight hours.

2. With clean hands, bring a small amount of the vegan ink care soap to lather and gently wash your tattoo, but do not scrub. Use either your hand or a baby wash cloth. Do not use a regular washcloth, it is too abrasive.

3. Rinse thoroughly, with indirect water, do not let water beat directly on the new tattoo and then pat dry, preferably with a lint free towel.

***Do not submerge the tattoo in water***

Broken Chains Tattoos Vegan Aftercare is our recommended ointment for the healing process; this item is available for sale at our studio.  Apply a THIN layer several times per day for the following 10-14 days.

The formation of scabs is normal during the healing process. Keep the scabs nice and moist. This allows the scab to slide off. It is IMPERATIVE that you do not pick or pull them! This will lead to discoloration and scarring.

Avoid chlorinated water, found in pools and spas, scented lotions/soaps and direct sunlight or tanning beds.

Once your tattoo has healed, exposure to sun is okay, but to keep the colors as bright as possible it is recommended that you use sunscreen with a high SPF protection number.
